An introduction of Sia Nyorkor: who she is, what she's done and what we're going to do this upcoming year.
It's all anyone's been talking about for months now...the presidential election. Historic. Unbelievable. Groundbreaking. All words used to describe this election cycle. With less than a few days left until we elect either Senator John McCain or Senator Barack Obama as the next President of the United States of America, the excitement is palpable. 27-year-old, Megan Higgenbotham from Trenton, NJ, said that she wouldn't miss this election for anything. "I feel that my vote does count and I feel that even though nothing is perfect, I think it's better to have a person in office that understands the working class men and women that make up a greater part of the nations population." A feeling that's shared by many others. 27-year-old Hillary Ettison from Cherry Hill, NJ said "I'm voting because it's a way to officially state my opinion about our country. The actions taken by the next President will have a direct effect on my future as a US citizen." So far, voter registration in New Jersey has hit a record high of 5.3 million voters. And while it's too late to register now, there are still other things you can do in advance, to make sure the day goes smoothly. For example, have you received your voter registration card? What about your precinct where you'll cast your ballot? To find out details about what to do on election day, call 1-877-NJVOTER. On election day, I'll be doing my civic duty and casting my vote as well. After I do that, I'll be running around New Jersey getting reactions and experiences from all of you. I'll do this via think.com, Twitter, Facebook, cell phone, Flip Video and anything else I can get my hands on. Here's a sneak peek of how I'll keep you informed. See you out on the beat!
