Can you imagine not being able to go somewhere because of the color of your skin? Well, that's how it was back in the 1900s-1950s when African-Americans weren't allowed to enjoy Atlantic City's beaches because of segregation. Blacks were socially restricted to the Missouri Avenue beach where they affectionately named the spot, Chicken Bone Beach, because of all the chicken bones left over when they left. Today, Chicken Bone Beach is a historical land site where everyone is welcome. Check it out!
