A shocking statement came earlier this week from the Governor of Montana.....a prediction that the country's next president will be a Democrat and that Montanas electoral votes will go to a Democrat.

Living in this state where 82 percent of the population is Christian, protestors are glued outside abortion clinics, guns are visible on the back of a pickup trucks, and yet we have 3 Electoral votes. That is a huge statement.

With the presidentail race getting closer and tighter those 3 votes will make a difference when all is said and done.

Montana is known for being a "red state". Democrats have only taken the state twice since 1948 the most recent coming in 92' with Bill Clinton. The odd part about Clinton winning in Montana is when he ran for re-election in 96' he lost Montana to Bob Dole.

Back to what the Governor Schweitzer said....."some of the eastern Republicans gunning for their party's nomination would not play well in montana because they are weak in thier support of guns."

Throughout the past few years the Montana Representation has been shifting allowing such a statement by the current Governor.

We have elected a Democratic Governor and 2 Democratic Senators, yes most the the governing percentage of the red state Montana is Democratic. The Republicans are however hanging onto Montana's sole house representative Denny Rehberg.

I say if you haven't payed attention to Montana in the past and think that it is a state which means nothing to the Presidential election, think again!

Montana and our 3, count um, 3 electoral votes may just play a big part in the upcoming election and it looks like the Democrats of Montana are gearing up to bring Montana back to their party.
