If you’re sick of the media frenzy that surrounds Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, and if you think John McCain is Bush’s protégé, you have another presidential hopeful.
Many people will neither commit to being totally left wing, or radically right winged either. These people who want to uphold the constitution call themselves Libertarians.
So who is your new leader? It’s this guy:

So who is he?
I carried around a photo of this man around Lexington, Kentucky with me to the grocery store.
- 22-year-old Karl Wade, a junior at the University of Kentuckythought he was the governor of Kentucky.
- 19-year old Pam Kennington, a recent graduate of Tates Creek High School said he must be running for Senate because he looks “political”.
- 24-year-old Adam Bennett thought he was an uncle he had never met before.
And the Libertarian Party of Kentucky didn’t seem to know who he is either… because he is not mentioned on their site… yet. (However they do have an entire page devoted to Ron Paul)
So sorry guys and gals, but you’re all wrong. It’s Bob Barr, your Libertarian Party presidential candidate. He made his official announcement on Sunday, May 25th.
Barr hails from Georgia and was a representative in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1995 to 2003. His website says he now runs a consulting firm which is headquartered in Atlanta, and has offices in Washington, D.C.
Barr left the Republican Party behind, and says he chose the Libertarian Party because he is 100% committed to protecting American liberties.
His website says,“Bob Barr works tirelessly to help preserve our fundamental right to privacy and our other civil liberties guaranteed in the Bill of Rights. Along with this, Bob is committed to helping elect leaders who will strive for smaller government, lower taxes and abundant individual freedom.”
Barr has four main focal points for his campaign big government, national defense, individual liberties, and securing our nations borders.
So does Barr stand a chance against the other presidential hopefuls? Has anyone questioned his pastor? He is Methodist, you know.
It’s always good to get new blood on the campaign trail, but he has some fierce contenders. Is America ready for a Libertarian president? Is he the change we need?
