Emotional highs and lows ran wild at Election Night watch parties in downtown Little Rock. President–elect Barack Obama’s Arkansas supporters could hardly contain their emotions when they became eyewitnesses to history last night. When Obama was declared the winner by CNN, tears began to stream down the faces of the young and the “young-at-heart” of all races, ethnicities and religious backgrounds in attendance at the “United for CHANGE” party.

However, a few blocks away from the Obama celebration, there was a more somber mood at the state G-O-P’s event. McCain/Palin supporters sat in the still and silent unease of defeat. MTV Street Team ’08’s Malcolm Glover filed this audio report.
