We are a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting water quality in Alabama, this great nation's #1 state for freshwater biodiversity. Founded in 2001 by David Whiteside, our full-time staff includes Nelson Brooke, Executive Director and Riverkeeper (patrolman and spokesman), and Charles Scribner, Director of Development. We also benefit greatly from the services of in-house Chief Prosecuting Attorney, Mark Martin, and Legal Program Coordinator, John Kinney. As a citizen-based watchdog group, we rely on the public for donations and volunteering.
