This is a picture of The Balsams resort that I took on vacation last month. Located in Dixville Notch, N.H. (about 3.5 hours north of Concord), this hotel is the site of first-in-the-nation voting. When the ballots were cast at 12 a.m. Nov. 4, Obama beat McCain, 15 to 6. And yes, every permanent resident in town voted. According to the state newspaper, the last time the town supported a Democrat was 40 years ago when Herbert Humphrey beat out Richard Nixon.
