May 14 marked the five-year anniversary of one of the worst human smuggling cases in U.S. history. Victoria, Texas, a small city about 120 miles south of Houston, received the national spotlight when 19 out of 73 immigrants were found dead in the back of a tractor trailer.

This tragedy should have made this country take a better look at what they are making my people go through just to get a better life for themselves. When we start letting children die or anybody for that matter, you have to stop and realize that we are in dire need of change
