One could say he stole the show.

Former Vice President Al Gore made a surprise appearance at Netroots Nation, the annual progressive blogger convention hosted by the folks over at the Daily Kos. The convention was held in Austin June 17-20.

Gore came in during the keynote question and answer session with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Much of his speech and questions from the audience centered on his challenge for the U.S. to use only renewable energy sources in 10 years. Around the same time he issued this challenge, Texas approved a $4.9 billion project to create transmission lines to transport wind energy. But do the benefits outweigh the costs?
