Throughout my journey as a member of Street Team '08, I have had the opportunity to speak to many veterans and soldiers currently serving in the military who have seen action in Iraq or Afghanistan.
Whether they were for or against the war, all of them had strong opinions about their service and our country's leaders.
Around the five-year anniversary of the war, I filmed two events and put them together in one video which juxtaposed the views of two soldiers and some state leaders. Watch the video.
I have also done some reporting on soldiers and education, which has been a hot topic as of late. You can see the first blog here about soldiers who fought for their right to receive financial aid for college after the state of Texas tried to do deny it because the soldiers were legal permanent residents and not citizens at the time of their service. The other post here is about an organization lobbying Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) to sign a bill that eventually passed to increase financial aid for soldiers.
Hope you enjoy reading those and seeing the different perspectives of our country's soldiers.
