VIDEO:  A Government Issued Right
 
 
This past weekend, the Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW) hosted the Winter Soldier Summit. Like that of the 1971 Winter Soldier event where John Kerry famously spoke out against the criminal nature of the Vietnam war, hundreds of our peers – who also happen to be Iraq and Afghanistan vets – came together to exercise a Government Issued (GI) Right: to speak out against the U.S. military.

This is an awesome piece, Erica. I'm so glad you covered this. The event I was at had a phone call from a someone testifying at the Winter Soldier Hearings, and I thought about you.
