A DeKalb church, adjacent to NIU University, placed wooden crosses in front of its doors, to memorialize the victims of the Valentine's Day massacre. Each cross was draped with fine linens and throughout the day locals and students stopped by the pray and write words of strength and remembrance on to the crosses.
