A Primary Primary Report
Posted May 13, 2008 at 7:53 AM

Hey Guys,

I'm about to hit the pavement to try and find some savvy, civic duty-fulfilling individuals to talk to about today's primary, but before I go, I thought it would be important to talk a little bit about what was going to be going down today.

The polls opened this morning at 6:30, and I'm sure all of six people were just waiting to bust down the doors to cast their votes. Much like a visit to the DMV (though infinitely more exhilarating), many local voters usually cast their endorsements during their lunch breaks, meaning things are about to get hectic at many polling places around the state.

I'm actually about to head off to the polls myself, to vote in my first ever primary election.

Also on the Democratic ballot are the positions of Governor, Secretary of State, W.Va. Supreme Court, some legislative seats, and in many locations, mayor.

I'll try and post as many reactions from voters that I can today, and, barring any shenanigans, the results should start returning around five or so. I'll be liveblogging them as they come my way, so keep an eye on the next text entry I put up.

As far as predictions go, it's pretty widely predicted that Hillary is going to take the state, with her rigorous campaigning here as of late and an endorsement from the good governor. But we won't know until people start hitting the polls -- a record number of people, I'm assuming, as the number of early voters that sent in ballots surpassed the former record number of early voters by nearly 50,000.

I'll keep you updated!
