Answering Economic Issues Nationwide
Posted August 08, 2008 at 5:34 AM

The slowing economy is a current problem for sales and creates bad signs for the future. In SouthCarolina, back-to-school sales are at record lows, which is the least of the problems for a state already suffering with funding for education.

Parents, local government and schools are cutting back on funding for education. Neither presidential candidate has a concrete plan for this ever-persistent problem in South Carolina. Falling sales in South Carolina not only proved for low back-to-school sales but will ultimately cause low holiday sales. Plummeting sales in South Carolina and all over the nation will only weaken the already suffering economy.

A boycott by the NAACP is currently pending in South Carolina that will only further damage the economy. The NACCP is encouraging a boycott to take away tourism revenues until the confederate flag is removed from the grounds of the State House. Tourism creates a large majority of the revenue that South Carolina prospers from. Taking away these monies from our already struggling economy will create serious economic woes for South Carolina.
