VIDEO:  Does the Native American youth vote count?

Native Americans, American Indians, First Nations People, Indigenous people, whichever name you prefer, we all come from the same background and the same US history. After everything American Indians have struggled through, does our vote count? Should we vote? The Baker Twins, Quese Imc, Supaman and Tanka Bar weigh in on this issue.

Great story, Christine! I was just wondering about this very topic today.
Awesome Chrissy. This goes without saying, but I can't tell you how pleased I am that we have someone on the Street Team to represent the voices of American Indians. The quote at the end gave me chills.

i think that indegenous poeple were here in America before anglo, african, and spaniards. So therefore, they really have more right to vote for what they want. Im not saying that they can do what they want but the land was theirs first and we had to come over and are now trying to put barriers on everyone judging their ethnic, whether they can talk english and even judging whether they can do things we can. If i were indian, i would give my vote and personally i would vote Democrat.

I'm a quarter White Mountain Apache, and I have voted for the past six years. I think that we all need to unite across cultural divides, across ages, and vote for Obama. Think of the possibilities!!! I think we need to let him know that American Indians are here and that we need to be ackknowledged and represented as well! :)
