I have been watching Homecoming with Kanye West and I was just wondering why the only vets that are getting help on the show are of ethnic diversity (contrary to what Kanye believes; they aren't the only vets that need financial and mental help). Also, he really made the show about him; the clips of his concerts/music-his self-promotion, how much he's helping these people-debt and tuition aren't enough- how GREAT he is, etc. If this show was supposed to be about raising awareness about the vets in tight situations and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, it was barely educational (except about Kanye!)

Dear Kanye: I was in the ARMY from 1988 through 1992 (during the first Gulf War). Today I am 37 years old and the single mom of a wonderful 5 year old boy. I am not really the MTV generation or even the rap/hip hop type of person, but I've always been impressed by your demeanor and your projection, and seeing your show tonite (by accident) was beyond moving. As a mom I couldnt help but to think of your mom. I am sincerely sorry for your lost, but I want to tell you that every time you take a stand for a good cause, and every time you make any kind of effort to help those who need it, you show the world through your actions and beliefs the greatness of the woman who raised you. You honor your mom with your generous actions and educate your fan base on issues some of them may not be aware of. God bless you and keep it up!

I was watching this show and i was in tears. My husband was in the Army for 6 years they involuntarily separated him 20 day before we would received his pension($17,000) And then sent us a letter in the mail saying we owe them $12,655 for his bonus. We Have three beautiful boys and a wonderful life, but with the sudden debut on top of the debt we already owe we a spiraling in to a never ending cycle of bills. Patrick suffers form PDS and Insomnia since he has returned home he has been completely different. We struggle everyday to make it. I work 56 hours a week while patrick can only work 40-45 because of his PDS. To watch these other soldiers go through what we are going through really hit me right in the heart. I know how they feel and I don't think anyone should have to feel that way.

I watched the homecoming with Kanye last night and actually had to wait until today to speak my mind. I know MTV does lot of good for alot of people but why does Kanye need help. Im asking because thats he only person that looked like it helped. I am a Iraqi Freedom Vet myself and will be returning there again in early next year. I also have suffered form PTSD. Why was the only Vets on that program of minority? Are they the only ones that need help? Cause I personally am white and I sure could use some help too. But you will never see me ask for it. The girl on the show was the only one that pissedme off more than Kayne. She said she joined to pay for college Why did she say she paid for tuition with her credit card? The army paid my college in full. I belive there are others probably more deserving for help.
But in true Kayne style he took a serious topic and turned it into free media for himself to fuel his already overgrown ego and used racial motives for it. Because we all know Kayne Doesnt like white people.

I just want to say that it is about time that our HEROS are being shown. My husband and brother both got injured by IEDs in Iraq and my husdband was on his scond tour and now is medically retired from his extensive injuries. My brother continues and recently re enlisted indef with the Army. He was on his 2nd tour when he was injured, but has been over to Iraq 4 times. They both have PTSD and I have seen these men and women at Fort Sam Hustons Hosp. They are remarkable. They have gave there all and still tell there stories and smile. They don't get paid much at all for risking there lives. They do it so we can be free. Thank you MTV, Kanye and Sway for showing our heros and giving them there well deserved help. I intruct on the post where we live and the soldiers and family need this... Thank you

i feel as though they should have made this more about the soldiers than kanye. I also think that people who enlist into the army just for education really need one because this is the army not a free ride to college. and all these people who think the army is bad need to realize that our country was founded on the foundation of god,family, and the freedom of our nation which was acheived by the army. with out the army we would live in a country of communist belief. also those who believe in a higher athourity( GOD) are less likely to have issues or recover better than those who don't so please believe.
