MySpace plans to rock the planet on November 10 with a series of 37 concerts aimed at raising awareness about the Darfur conflict and funds for relief. Rock for Darfur will find Fall Out Boy, Maroon 5, the Academy Is ..., Cartel, Coheed and Cambria, Colbie Caillat, Hot Hot Heat and the Decemberists donating to the cause a portion of the proceeds from their already-scheduled shows around the world on that day.

Some of the proceeds from the second annual series of shows will go to Oxfam International and the Save Darfur Coalition to help combat the humanitarian crisis in the Darfur region of Sudan as a result of the ongoing devastating civil war. The shows are being held on four continents, giving more fans the opportunity to support the cause. Last year's 22 Rock for Darfur concerts raised $50,000 for relief efforts, according to a MySpace spokesperson. Oxfam will use the funds to help provide those in Chad and the Darfur region with basic supplies such as clean water, shelter, blankets, soap and disease-prevention programs.

"As I watch the fire around my Southern California home, I know that the devastation of losing treasured personal property, a house or even a whole city cannot compare to the evil atrocities that the children and parents of Darfur have had to endure under the ongoing genocide," Megadeth singer/guitarist Dave Mustaine said in a statement. "I hope and pray you too will join in helping the people of Darfur in a small way by attending a 'Rock for Darfur' concert on November 10. All donations, large and small, are very necessary to help overpower this tragedy. I am doing my part, will you do yours?"

MySpace is also teaming with Warner Independent Pictures on the upcoming documentary "Darfur Now," which opens in select theaters on November 2 and features an appearance from Academy Award nominated actor Don Cheadle.
