Alliant Energy, one of Wisconsin’s main energy providers, held a shareholder’s meeting last week to discuss the construction of new coal plants in Cassville, Wisconsin and Marshalltown, Iowa.  

Shareholders were met with signs, chants, and marches protesting the coal plants as they arrived at Alliant’s Exhibition Hall entrance.

Student groups like WISPIRG (Wisconsin Public Interest Research Group) joined Clean Wisconsin, the Sierra Club and other concerned citizens to form this protest and project their voice.
