Innovative Solutions to Poverty are badly needed in a world where half of all humanity lives on less than $2 a day. Even with the growth of new approaches, like microfinance, 2.5 billion people lack access to critical financial services that can help them feed and educate their children, stabilize their communities, and work their way out of poverty. The challenge is clear. As Nelson Mandela said, "Overcoming poverty is not a gesture of charity. It is an act of justice. It is the protection of a fundamental human right, the right to dignity and a decent life." We will tell you about the innovative efforts of the Village Banking Campaign, and we hope to hear about your efforts as well.

Bill Clinton's book, Giving, is a great book. He talks about tons of ways everyone can do something to change the world, including Global Poverty! Like investing $20 for a microcredit loans so a farmer in African can buy some goats to make money from their milk. Its a great book! Get it out in the library!
