City Year is a nonprofit organization built on the belief that young people can change the world. The organization unites individuals of all backgrounds for a demanding year of full-time community service. As tutors, mentors, and role models, City Year corps members make a difference in the lives of children and transform schools and neighborhoods. In addition, not only can they earn an educational award of $4,725 that can be used to further their education, pay back school loans, or attend trade school, but they also aquire, develop, and implement viable leadership and networking skills that enhance the communities that we serve. In one day a corps member can go from tutoring a kid in East Harlem to engaging community stakeholders in Bed-Stuy to helping facilitate a fundraiser in Chelsea – literally.

On Monday, February 18 there will be a screening of:
"Chicago 10".
"Chicago 10" presents contemporary history with a passionate perspective, mixing bold and original animation with extraordinary archival footage that explores the build-up to and unraveling of the Chicago Conspiracy Trial. Set to the music of revolution, then and now, "Chicago 10" is a parable of hope, courage and ultimate victory, the story of young Americans speaking out and taking a stand in the face of an oppressive and armed government.
After the screening, director Brett Morgen and writer and activist Kevin Powell will take questions from the audience about the film and the issues surrounding the Chicago 10 conspiracy trial.
When: Doors open at 6:30 PM.
