Idol Gives Back

David Archuleta or David Cook? It's an important question that has undoubtedly stirred many a debate. One thing about American Idol that is not debatable though is their steadfast effort to help end Malaria. Malaria is the number one killer of children under 5 in Africa, killing one child every 30 seconds, and taking over 1 million lives a year.

 During theIdol Gives Backevent,American Idol'scharity special, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown pledged 20 million bednets to fight Malaria in Africa. Furthermore, corporate donor ExxonMobile pledged $10 million, reaffirming its committment to ending Malaria Deaths in Africa.
