I have to say, while I commend the virtuous intentions of this video, that it is still somewhat in vain. What I dont understand is the discrimination against a culture instead of the just a stament against misogyny. When people focus on the select people in the hip hop community who objectify women instead of ALL people from EVERY culture who objectify women, they promote stereotypes against the entire hip hop culture. It implies, not only that there is no good in the culture, but also that there is no bad in others. Positive hip hop exist (Mos Def, Talib Kwali, and Common jus to name a few).. and I dont think the fact that pop culture negatively depicts women is an argument. So why is it that only hip hop is attacked? I don't agree w/ the objectifying of women (especially since I AM a woman), but let's campaign against all misogyny and NOT jus against hip hop culture! Rise Above the Ignorance!
