Im off to hit the ski slopes this weekend, so I thought it would be appropriate to share some info on what the ski industry is trying to do to protect the environment.  Thankfully, many of the outdoor sports athletes appreciate their dependency on their environment for their livlihood so they do make efforts to treat it well.  Climate change poses a significant threat to skiers as many mountains they have skied on in the past are not getting as much, or any, snow, or the seasons are getting shorter.  Check out this video on the 2008 Winter X Games and what they are doing:
