make a 10 minute shower a 8 minute shower.
turn of the lights every time you leave a room.

put a bunch of your electronics on a single power strip, and turn off the power strip when you leave the room. i have 3 power strips in my life. one is in my room and powers my laptop, stereo, and cell phone charger. the other in my room powers my AC unit, TV, DVD player, and playstation. the third is at work and powers my light, computer and monitor. now, instead of dealing with 10 different chords and switches, i deal with 3. its simple and save energy and money.
be mindful of eco friendly items when shopping, and if its not too much of a stretch go with the ecofriendly one not only because it helps the cause, but rewards the companies that are going green. by responding to being green as a consumer, you will increase the amount of green products the company produces as it becomes a good revenue source, and you will increase competition as non green companies will be forced to go green as the market of green buyers expands. examples: when buying a half gallon of milk, buy the one that is rated USDA Organic. when looking at t-shirts, buy the one of organic cotton. when renting a car, ask for a hybrid.
use sunlight instead of electricity when possible. when its sunny out, there is no need to turn on lights. when theres a cool breeze, open a door or window instead of using the AC or a fan.
