Think homework is a waste of your time? Think again.
Studies show that the more math courses you take in high school, the more likely you are to graduate from college.
On average, most high school students in nine other countries can read better than those in the US.
You can make a difference in your school and be sure you and your friends graduate ready for college and work.
If you want to be a well-respected advocate and activist, your friends and adults are much more likely to take you seriously if you're giving 100% in the classroom. Here are a few key study habits:
Focus
Find a quiet, organized space - maybe a study table at the library. Turn off your cell phone, instant messenger, television and anything else that could possibly distract you.
Plan Ahead
If you have a big test or paper coming up, set aside plenty of time so you aren't cramming. Manage your time and prioritize your most important assignments.
Pay Attention
If you are actively participating and listening in class, you're studying will be much more productive - and maybe even interesting!
Check Your Work
Studying can be exhausting - but after you've completed an assignment, take a few minutes to review it for typos, consistency, and clarity. There's no use turning in an assignment you've slaved over that's full of errors.
Don't Go It Alone
Find a mentor, coach, tutor or study buddy to help you.
Whatever you do, make sure you TAKE ACTION.
