Although he expressed his support for presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama very clearly in Mixtape Monday earlier this week, an interview in the new issue of Vibe has led Young Jeezy to post a video and issue a press release clarifying his position.

In the magazine's August issue, Jeezy is quoted as saying "No disrespect to Barack, but I f--- with [presumptive Republican candidate] John McCain." According to the press release, the quote came "moments after" Jeezy shook McCain's hand on the set of Saturday Night Live in May; McCain appeared on the show and Jeezy performed with Usher. Jeezy added in the article, "I like Barack, but at the same time I wanted to see what McCain was talking about."

However, the MC is eager to emphasize his support for Obama and posted a four-minute video — which finds him wearing the "My President Is Black" T-shirt he's worn frequently in recent weeks — on his Web site to clarify his position.

"I represent the Democratic party. ... I've never been nor do I ever plan to be a John McCain supporter," he says in the video. "I support Barack Obama."

He also said he had intended to say "No disrespect to McCain, but I f--- with Obama," and added that the uproar over his comments has "showed me the power of words."

Jeezy expressed his support for Obama emphatically in Mixtape Monday. "Barack, he has a lot of things going for him," the MC said. "He's ahead of his time. Given the right chance, he'll make some type of change. We'll feel it. I really feel that. John McCain is cool, but he looks like a fraud to me."

He also spoke about his encounter with McCain on SNL. "I told him the 'hood was f---ed up, and he was like, 'How you doing?' " Jeezy recalled. "Real talk. They know entertainers, so they shake your hand [and say], 'I'm your friend.' But my mama is about to have surgery that I gotta pay for out of my pocket because she can't get insurance. I don't really feel McCain. It ain't just because Barack is black; he can make change. Just like Bush equals recession, Barack equals progression. I really feel that, all bullsh-- aside. He's gotta come in and keep it right."

The MC's third LP, The Recession, is slated for release this summer. He's set to premiere the song "My President Is Black" on his Web site on Monday.
