VMA vet Jay-Z and VMA virgins Linkin Park have signed on to perform at the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards next month.

The artists, whose participation was announced by the network Thursday (August 23), join previously announced performers Britney Spears, 'NSYNC, Jennifer Lopez, U2, Alicia Keys, Ja Rule, Staind and Missy Elliott at the 18th annual awards show, to be held September 6 (see "Britney Spears To Debut New Single At Video Music Awards").

Jay-Z releases The Blueprint on September 18 (see "Jay-Z's Blueprint Different This Time — No Talk Of Quitting"), while Linkin Park are still going strong on last year's Hybrid Theory.

Also added are a slew of new presenters to dish out Moonmen — Backstreet Boys, Christina Aguilera, Destiny's Child, P. Diddy, Eve, No Doubt's Gwen Stefani, Mandy Moore, Mya, Ozzy Osbourne, Pink, Jessica Simpson and actors Chris Kattan, Estella Warren and Ben Stiller.

Previously announced presenters include Aaliyah, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Jimmy Fallon, Macy Gray, Will Ferrell, Jewel, Nelly, Shaquille O'Neal, Shakira, Mark Wahlberg and Christopher Walken.

Comedian Jamie Foxx, who stars in the TV series "The Jamie Foxx Show," will serve as this year's VMA host. The show broadcasts live from New York's Metropolitan Opera House at 8 p.m. ET on MTV.
