We know you've heard it all before, but here are a few things to remember about Web privacy and safety.
Don't post personally identifying contact information - your name, address, phone number, IM address, favorite hangouts - to public places on the site. This is a biggie, so we'll say it again: don't post anything that could let somebody you don't want to find you…find you.
And when you do decide to get together with others in the real world to start organizing for action, make sure to bring someone you already know and trust with you, and that your first few meetings are in a public space.
Don't post anything that could come back to haunt you. While we know you're on the site because you want to do good, make sure that your posts or any images of you are things that you can be proud of or wouldn't be embarrassed to show your teacher or your boss who may just be looking.
If you see a piece of media that you think might be dangerous (from a dangerous person or has the potential to cause danger), flag it. For more information on flagging, go to our
Help page.
Finally, don't share your password with anyone.
